Bolex were (perhaps are still?) the Rolls Royce of clockwork cine cameras, their H16 (16mm) cameras are still highly regarded in the stop frame animation world.

The model in this collection is a P1 Zoom Reflex, serial number 909730 made in 1961. Fitted with a Som Berthiot Pan Cinor 8-40mm f1.9 lens making it a very hansom example of the type.

Apart from it’s beauty, it’s a good example of the semi silvered prism view finder, giving the user a true through the lens image, aided by a split image focus.
