Better known for their still cameras - most famously the Leica SLR and Rangefinders. Leitz were originally a microscope manufacturer, who employed one Oskar Barnack, a German from the Zeiss company. They then started to produce cine cameras, which always had an industrial look to them - simple,and functional.
